Bringing My World to Christ  is a ministry initiative of our church that helps us to be intentional about praying for people we know who are not yet followers of Jesus, and then making ourselves available in some way to be part of the process through which they have an opportunity to respond to Jesus.   At the end of our worship service today, we will have the opportunity to physically present to God the names of people we intend to pray for in the coming year.

Congregational Meeting    A congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, June 14th, following the morning service.  All members and friends of MCC are welcome.  There are several items on the agenda.  We will have some new members to vote into our membership.  We will hear reports from the pastors concerning our ministry this year thus far and a preview of what is anticipated for the summer and fall.  We will have an update on the progress of our financial support of our ministry since the beginning of the year as well as other information bearing on the ministry of our fellowship.  The meeting is expected to be relatively brief.  The meeting will be held shortly after our worship service and fellowship time.

Habitat for Humanity Work Day   There is a house being built this summer in Troy, NH and many volunteers are needed to help with the build.  There is going to be a work day this Saturday, June 6th from 8 AM to 3:30 PM.  There is no skill required – just willing hands.  Please see Ken Cook today, or call him at 363-8307 if you would like to help for a couple of hours or more.  Help is also needed to provide lunch for the workers that day.  Contact Ken also if you can help with the food.

Summer Children’s Program  This summer, there is going to be a Children’s Program during the worship hour called Noah’s Park.  You can help with the program!  We are seeking help with the snacks for the kids with specific items needed each Sunday.  There is a sign up sheet in the Children’s Ministry Area today.  Your support would be greatly appreciated!

Seafarer’s Mission Trip   We have the opportunity to serve for a day at the Seafarer’s Mission in Boston.  On Saturday, June 27th, a group from MCC will be traveling to Boston to work at the Mission.  Volunteers receive training and assistance to help seafarers contact home, send home wages, and find the supplies they need.  If you are interested in going to Seafarer’s for the day, please call Steve Riley at 357-1056.  You will need to bring a bag lunch and money for supper on the way home.  For more information on the mission, browse to www.neseafarers.org

Soul Friends   “We need companions on the Christian journey for a number of reasons. First among these is that the deep knowing of both self and God foundational to Christian spirituality demands deep knowing of and being known by others. Neither knowing God nor knowing self can progress very far apart from others who are able and willing to offer us help” David Benner in Sacred Companions.  A group of us over the summer are exploring the ancient Celtic practice of Soul Friends. Our purpose is to gain a better understanding of the art of holy listening and encouraging one another on our spiritual journeys.  Anyone interested in joining our group discussions is welcome to join us. We will be meeting at the ministry center on Thursday 18 June at 6:30 PM.   If you have any questions contact Ron Ferguson at 352-6816 or ron@monadnockcovenant.org.

Family “Bricks”    As part of a Sunday School kick-off event a few years ago, each family in attendance made a “family brick” – a brick with the family name imprinted in the top.  The family bricks now are part of the landscaping out in front of the church, around the edge of the flower gardens.  There are many families now who don’t yet have a brick.  We will be making family bricks in conjunction with our photo sessions for the picture directory.  If you haven’t yet made a brick and would like to, you will have the opportunity to do that at the same time of your photo session.  You may come before your photo slot or stay after to make your brick.  A station will be set up outside.  Please join in!

Striving for Justice  If you want to make a significant difference in the lives of hungry people, plan to participate in our church’s “offering of letters”  campaign with Bread for the World (www.bread.org) by spending just 15 minutes after our worship service on June 7th.  During those 15 minutes you will write a personal letter to one or more of our Senators or Congressional Representatives asking them to support legislation that will help hungry people overseas, and hungry children in the United States.  You can learn more about this initiative by going to the Bread for the World web site.  If you would like to take an even more significant step, plan to visit our congressional representative’s office and our Senators’ offices on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC on June 16th to voice your support of legislation on behalf of hungry people.  Christians from across the country (including fellow Covenanters) will be gathered for that purpose.   For more information about BFW’s Lobby Day, visit their web site.  If you have questions about any of these initiatives in our church, contact Diane Riley at 357-1056 or reader54@earthlink.net.

Baby Bottle Blessings   Our church has an on-going partnership with Care Net Pregnancy Center in Keene and part of that relationship is helping raise the necessary funds to support their ministry.  Each year beginning on Mother’s Day and ending with Father’s Day, churches all around the Monadnock region help raise funds for the ministry of Care Net through the Baby Bottle Blessings fundraiser.  Care Net is a local agency that ministers to women and men who are experiencing an unexpected pregnancy.  Thank you to everyone who took a baby bottle to fill with change.  Please bring your bottle back on June 21st, Father’s Day.  For more information on Care Net, please visit www.monadnockoptions.com

For Men Only   “For Men Only” has been created for the many Christian men who are in a cycle of “trying harder” but still losing the battle for sexual purity.  These groups are led by men who have struggled with this powerful stronghold and achieved healing, freedom, and victory by the power of God. Join a band of brothers to battle together in breaking the back of our deadly enemy. Contact Randy Clark @ 848-3201 if you would like information about joining a group in progress.

Hire Helping Hands   Need some help around the house with yard work?   Maybe you need help getting those windows clean after the long winter, or to do some spring cleaning inside?  How about an afternoon out without the kids or maybe someone to cook a gourmet meal for you?  Whatever it is you’re looking for, we have a teen that can help.  Why not hire some helping hands to get the task done for you?

If you are interested in hiring one or more of our teens to help you around the house, all you need to do is contact Lorraine DiGeronimo @lorimark82@yahoo.com and we will set you up with the teen that is right for you.  All donations given to each teen will be put directly into their account to get them to CHIC this summer.
