JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE
Our church is on an adventure: many of the people who
worship with us on a regular basis are reading through the Bible this
year using a One-Year Chronological Bible (NIV version) published by
Tyndale Press. Others are using their own bible and following the
readings for each day printed in our bulletin and posted on our web
site. You are welcome to “jump in” at any time during the year and
join us. If for any reason you are unable to participate in the daily
reading, no worries. On Sunday morning our pastor (or guest speaker)
will give a brief summary of the sweep of Biblical history that we have
read the previous week, and will then focus the morning message on one
of the passages that we have read. You do not (and will not) need to
be present every week in order to gain something beneficial from the
morning message. But if you miss a Sunday and want to hear the message,
go to our church website and click on the “Audio” button. Those who are
reading the passages will undoubtedly have questions about what they
have read. If that is the case for you, we encourage you to write down
your questions and bring them to any one of our bi-weekly “Journey
through the Bible Discussion Group Meetings” at 7pm on the 2nd
and 4th Wednesdays of each month. (Regular attendance at
this event is not required or expected in order to participate. Come
whenever you wish.)
OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONNECTING WITH OTHERS
Vacation Bible
School ~ Begins Tomorrow
Children in grades K – 5 are invited to join us for
Adventure on the High Seas every day this week. If your children are
not pre-registered, please allow about 15 minutes for registration.
It’s going to be a great week exploring the mighty love of God. Thanks
to everyone for donations that have been coming in to help make VBS
great for the all the kids.
Newcomer’s
Luncheon
Anyone who has recently started attending MCC is invited
to a Newcomer’s next Sunday, July 18th immediately following
the worship service. The luncheon is an opportunity to meet other
recent newcomer’s to MCC and to hear a short presentation about the
ministry of the church. If you would like to attend, please call the
church office at 352-6816 or send an email to
ctoegel@ne.rr.com.
Volunteer
Drivers Needed
The Red Cross in Keene is in need of volunteer drivers to
assist them in helping area residents get to medical providers both
locally and at the VA Hospital in White River Junction and Dartmouth
Hitchcock in Lebanon. For the long distance trips the Red Cross will
furnish the vehicle and gas - all they need is a driver. If you have
some time during the week it's a great way to help those in need in our
area. You may call the Red Cross office in Keene at 352-3210 to
volunteer directly. Or you may contact Ken Cook, chair of our Missions,
Outreach and Evangelism Committee, for further information (209-8313).
Family
Assistance Ministry
From time to time people in our church family (usually
single parents and older couples/individuals) find themselves in need of
some practical help with minor repairs and maintenance projects in their
home or apartment. Our Missions, Outreach and Evangelism Committee is
putting together some teams of men and women who would be available to
help other members of our church family as the need arises. No
professional skills required, just a willing heart and the commitment to
serve. Typical projects would be 3 - 4 hours in length and would be no
more often than once per month. If you would be interested in
participating in this ministry initiative or have questions about it,
please contact Randy Clark at 446-7191, Ron Rzasa at 363-8221, or Ken
Cook at 209-8313 for more information.
Keene Community
Kitchen
There is a need for volunteers from MCC to help work once
a month every 4th Thursday at the Keene Community Kitchen
from 4:30 to 7 p.m. 10 volunteers are needed to help serve food and
then clean up (wash dishes, sweep, etc.) after supper is served. Youths
ages 14 and older can participate. Please note: no tank tops, no open
toed shoes and long pants are required. To help, please call Marion
Rzasa at 499-2351.
