Our
Ministries |
|
We have several
thriving ministries through which we work with our church and our
community. We also have a small
group ministry that is on-going. |
| |
MOE--Missions,
Outreach, and Evangelism
The purpose of
this ministry is to encourage, coordinate, and provide
resources for the congregation's responsibility of
evangelism, witness, and service outside itself in the
community and world. |

Children
and Families Ministry
The
family has a strong place in the Bible, in Christianity,
and in the Monadnock Covenant Church. The members of the Christian
Education ministry feel that there is no more precious
commodity than our children. Therefore, we look after them
to the best of our ability, focusing on their educational
needs from a Christian perspective. Our Christian
education program helps students--children and adults--to
learn about life, ethics, morality, and our relationship
with Jesus Christ.
Sunday
School classes are offered for everyone from pre-school
children to adults. We use the Bible as our source of
teaching and inspiration, with a continued curriculum to
help all God's children find Him. Our Sunday School
program is currently on summer hiatus. We will
resume Sunday School classes in September. Sunday
School begins at 9 AM at the Ministry Center. Come and see for yourself what God's Love
has in store for you. |

Prayer
and Care
The Prayer and Care Ministry seeks to pray for the
spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being of Monadnock
Covenant Church members and friends, and for the
protection and guidance of those in leadership
positions. Prayer and care is not limited to those
who participate in the church; members also pray and care
for needs from outside the church that are brought forward
and that the Holy Spirit leads people to act on.
The
ministry's members desire to be the hands and heart of
Christ, to love one another and bear one another's burdens
with prayer and with action. We recognize that human
efforts will only go so far, and we must rest in
confidence and faith that God does move through prayer.
We
see all those who seek to follow Jesus Christ and serve
Him being moved to pray on a regular basis for the needs
of those around them, and being sensitive to the needs
that God is calling them to meet. We pray that those
who follow Christ will have eyes to see, ears to hear, and
hands to act when seeing a brother or sister in need.
Ministry
members listen to the needs of others, talk with people
and get to know them, and touch them on an emotional
level. They work to identify where people are at and
to stand in their shoes. |

Congregational
and Parish Life
The purpose of this ministry is to develop, organize, and
implement programs to encourage fellowship and hospitality
and to foster communication within the congregation. |
|

Worship
and Music
The purpose of the Worship and Music ministry of MCC is to
assist the Senior Pastor in decisions involving the music
and worship functions that take place in our church.
This includes decisions regarding the choir, special
music, praise team, special services, ushers, communion
preparation, worship supplies and the sound system.
The ministry helps plan for the special worship events
that take place throughout the year: traditionally, the
Thanksgiving service, the Lucia Fest in December, a
children's Christmas pageant (in conjunction with the
Christian Education ministry), a Christmas Eve service,
Covenant Women's Sunday, and Youth Sunday.
Music
is an integral part of our worship services, and we are
proud of our volunteer choir, the praise team, and all of
the talented people who minister to us through their
musical contributions. The Music and Worship
ministry is honored to serve our congregation in this
area. |

Stewardship
The Stewardship/Finance ministry is responsible for
developing stewardship programs in the church. It
also assists the treasurer in financial matters and keeps
the congregation informed as to the financial status of
the church. This ministry, with much input from the
other ministries, prepares the church budget each
year. The giving of one's self to the needs of
others as well as to the fulfillment of responsibilities
involved in church work is recognized as good stewardship. |

Properties
The
purpose of this ministry is to supervise and maintain all
church property and provide for the successful fulfillment
of all physical operations. |
